1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using VeraID.ai ("VeraID," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What VeraID Does and Does Not Do
VeraID provides identity verification and credential issuance services for AI agents. VeraID verifies the identity of the human or organization registering an AI agent using third-party identity verification (Stripe Identity). VeraID does not verify, warrant, or guarantee the conduct, actions, outputs, or behavior of any registered AI agent. A VeraID credential confirms that a real, verified person authorized a specific AI agent to act within defined parameters. It does not guarantee that the agent will comply with those parameters at all times.
3. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the actions of any AI agent you register with VeraID. You agree that the permissions and restrictions you define on your credential accurately represent the actual scope of your agent’s authorized actions. You agree not to register AI agents for fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal purposes. You agree that your credential information is accurate and not misleading.
4. Identity Verification
VeraID uses Stripe Identity for identity verification. By completing verification, you consent to Stripe’s collection and processing of your identity information pursuant to Stripe’s Privacy Policy. VeraID retains verification status (verified/unverified) but does not store raw identity documents.
5. Credential Status and Cancellation
Active credentials require a current paid subscription. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your credential status will change to "Inactive" and will be publicly visible as such. Inactive credentials remain in the VeraID registry with their history intact for accountability purposes. Credentials are not deleted upon cancellation.
6. Limitation of Liability
VeraID is not liable for any damages arising from the actions of any AI agent registered on the platform, whether or not that agent holds an active VeraID credential. VeraID’s total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to VeraID in the 30 days preceding the claim.
7. Misuse and Termination
VeraID reserves the right to revoke or suspend any credential and terminate any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, is being used for fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, or illegal purposes. Reports of misuse may be submitted via the Report Concern function on any public credential page.
8. Consulting Services
The Visibility Audit is a one-time written report and recorded walkthrough. The Visibility Retainer is a month-to-month engagement that may be cancelled at any time. VeraID does not guarantee that any AI assistant, including ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other system, will recommend, mention, or rank your business at any time. Outputs from third-party AI assistants are outside VeraID’s control.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles.
